"Mike and his team were the caterers for our wedding and it was AMAZING! They did a great job at preparing food and serving it. They got there early and communicated with our day of planner. I cannot say how much we loved the food and how many compliments we got on our food. This team also adjusted to some of our friends being vegetarian and worked with us.
My wife and I first visited Hickory River Smokehouse (across from Grand Prairie mall in Peoria) more than 2 years ago, as we were planning our annual yard party. We weren't necessarily looking for a caterer, but after we tasted their food at our impromptu lunch, we inquired about their catering menu and prices, and decided to give them a try for our upcoming gathering of about 75 guests.

We have now used Hickory River for the past 3 parties, with a pig roast in 2009 and this year, and turkey and beef brisket last year, all served with a variety of sides, sauces and picnic supplies. Feedback from party attendees has been consistently excellent. Each year, they arrived on time, with hot, succulent, very well presented food, including sides of potatoes, veggies and mac & cheese. The serving line each time was immaculately clean and the service staff was very courteous. This year, the somewhat rainy weather did not deter their spirits in the least. My wife and I aim to "outdo" last year's party every year, but as far as food, there is no outdoing Hickory River. We have already engaged them for next year's party. Thanks Mike & Hannah !!"

"Coming from living in Texas for 13 years, we were very skeptical about whether we'd be tasting Bar-B-Q like we were used to getting back in Austin. However, after walking into Hickory River Bar-B-Q and tasting their product, my family and I were pleasantly surprised and amazed that we could find good flavored Bar-B-Q anywhere in the Midwest. We were so taken by the food at Hickory River Bar-B-Q that we used them to cater our Summer Bash Party with a whole hog pig roast. All of our guests were extremely happy with the food and the service. Mike, the manager at Hickory River was our cook, server and set up for the party and he did a fantastic job. Mike was both friendly, and very efficient at every aspect of the service. They arrived at the time they said they would, set up their cooker and tent right where we wanted them to, and had the hog ready at the time they said they'd have it ready without any problems. All in all the experience with Hickory River was a very pleasant one. Even after our party, Mike has been very courteous and friendly with us whenever we've been back in to the restaurant. Without a doubt we will be having Hickory River cater other parties including next years Summer Bash again. We would definitely recommend Mike and his crew for any catering needs you may have."
